Emily VanCamp: "Women should be paid as much as men"

Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last few weeks you'll know that Captain America: Civil War hits cinemas this week. And the amazing Scarlett Johansson who plays Black Widow is Cosmopolitan's June cover star.

In the interview Scarlett talks about everything from married life to the gender pay gap.

And when we held a special screening of the film this week to launch the June issue, Scarlett's Captain America costar and our special guest Emily VanCamp weighed in on the Hollywood pay gap argument too.

During a Q&A with Cosmopolitan Entertainment Director Lottie Lumsden, she admitted, "I'm kind of sick of people getting angry at women who comment on it because they make a big sum of money.

"It's a conversation that affects everybody and it's just that they have the voice and the platform to talk about it.

"I want to be part of that conversation too. It's a simple fact – women should be paid as much as men. It's not about how much certain women make, let's just make it equal. I think it makes perfect sense. Hopefully it's not a conversation we have to have for much longer."
