Amy Schumer vows to never take photos with fans after a man ‘scared the s--t’ out of her

Fans looking to take a photo with Amy Schumer are out of luck.

After the "Trainwreck" star was scared by a fan in South Carolina, she took to Instagram Saturday to share her new no-picture policy, along with a photo of the man.

"This guy in front of his family just ran up next to me scared the s--- out of me. Put a camera in my face. I asked him to stop and he said, 'No, it's America and we paid for you' this was in front of his daughter."

The run-in occurred Saturday in Greenville, where the comedian performed Friday night.

"I was saying stop and no. Great message to your kid. Yes legally you are allowed to take a picture of me. But I was asking you to stop and saying no. I will not take picture with people.

Fortunately, the 34-year-old's Southern stop wasn't all bad.

The comic and writer shared a video from her Greenville stop, set to Aliyah's "Are You That Somebody," where she's seen eating lobster and posing with some less-intrusive fans.

 She later thanked her fans for their support and walked back her outright ban on fan photos, writing on Twitter, "I'll still take pictures with nice people when I choose to if it's a good time for that.

"But I don't owe you anything," she wrote. "So don't take if I say no."

Later in the day, she posted of picture of herself with a horse and the caption, "Day turned around with Harley" and added another pic on the same theme, captioned: "F the haters! Much love to the lovers."

Prince 'diagnosed with AIDS weeks before his death and was preparing to die' - shock US claims

Music icon Prince was “preparing to die for a little while” after being diagnosed with AIDS, according to reports in the US.

A music industry source interviewed by The National Enquirer messaged friends on April 19 to say the singer was suffering from the disease.

“He was in bad shape,” the source claimed to the newspaper, as reported by Radar Online.

“Doctors told Prince his blood count was unusually low and that his body temperature had dropped dangerously below the normal 98.6 degrees to 94 degrees.

“He was totally iron-deficient, very weak and often disoriented

"He rarely ate and when he did, it all came right back up.”

The magazine claims the Purple Rain star was diagnosed with AIDS six months ago after contracting the HIV positive virus “in the 1990s”.

However due to his Jehovah’s Witness faith he refused medical treatment instead believing he could be cured by pray.

“God can and will cure me,” he is alleged to have told friends.

Members of his faith are also claimed to have told him to ignore it, saying to the singer he had “everlasting life”.

According to the Enquirer the disease saw him lose more than five stone in weight with the source telling them: “His face was yellowish, the skin on his neck was hanging off and the tips of fingers were a brownish-yellow.”

Prince’s death last Thursday came five days after his private jet was forced to make an emergency landing after he is suspected to have overdosed on the painkiller Percocet.

Days before he was dead in a lift at his Paisley Park home in Chanhassen, Minneapolis, he had been seen making runs to a local pharmacy to pick up bags of prescriptions.

An employee at the Walgreens that served Prince said: “We were all just shocked that he came in last night looking so beat. We said, ‘We are praying for you.’”

A day after his death Prince, 57, was cremated in a private ceremony attended by only three family members including his sister Tyka Nelson, 55.

The claims of Prince suffering from AIDS came as the Mirror learnt he was forced to return to touring in order to boost his finances after it was discovered his spending outstripped his income.

Despite his work being valued at more than £150 million he is said to have suffered "chronic money problems” for years before his death.

The star’s refusal to allow the rights to music and back catalogue to be sold placed an immense strain on his finances, sources close the singer have claimed.

Hi-de-Hi! star Barry Howard dies aged 78 after battle with cancer

Hi-de-Hi! star Barry Howard has died aged 78, it was announced today.

The actor was best known for playing Barry Stuart-Hargreaves in the first seven series of the BBC sitcom.

Howard had been battling cancer, his agent, Sharry Clark has confirmed to the BBC.

Clark described the actor as "very talented" and said she would "miss him more than I can say".

Clark said: "The much loved actor Barry Howard, best known for his exquisitely supercilious Barry Stuart-Hargreaves, the champion ballroom dancer in BBC's hugely popular Hi-de-Hi, passed away today aged 78."


In 1999 Howard played Count Zarkhov in BBC comedy You Rang, M'Lord?, sharing the screen with fellow Hi-de-Hi co-stars the late Paul Shane and Su Pollard.

Howard also appeared in 1994 series The House of Windsor as Danny Jackson.

The Hi-de-Hi star appeared in short film Open Casket in 2004, while a role in Doctor Who is also among his credits.

The actor was born on July 9, 1937 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England as Barry Frederick Howard.

Source: Prince had opioid medication on him at time of death

Authorities investigating the death of music legend Prince found prescription opioid medication on his person and in his Minnesota home, a law enforcement official told CNN on Wednesday.

The pills are commonly used to treat pain, and investigators have brought in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to help with the case, the source said.

Investigators believe a health scare about a week before Prince's death, which caused an unscheduled landing of his plane in Illinois, was likely the result of a reaction to the pain medication, the official said.

The pilot told air traffic control that a passenger, later known to be Prince, was unresponsive. 

 

Prince was treated for a potential overdose of pain medication, the official said. 

 

The singer was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Moline. His publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, later said he returned home and was fine.

Prince was 57 when he died last week at his home in a Minneapolis suburb.

Ever since Beyoncé released her new so-called 'visual album', Lemonade, (it's a normal album with music videos, as far as I'm aware) fans have been absolutely gagging to know who the eff cheated with Jay Z.

Because that's certainly what most of the lyrics are alluding to - some seriously foul play from Mr Z. One particular lyric, regarding a certain 'Becky with the good hair', suggests that this Becky and her impressive 'do is the one playing away with Beyoncé's hubby, and the world has been scrabbling round trying to work out who she is almost day and night since the album was released.

So when it was discovered that Rita Ora had posed for a Snapchat photo wearing a bralette that looked suspiciously like it had LEMONS on it, that was it, it was DEFINITELY her. Her cryptic and arguably catty Instagram following that only fueled the rumours further.

But now Rita's come out and said it wasn't her. Just at the point we were ready to see some kind of 'I AM BECKY; BECKY IS ME' tweet from the former X Factor judge, she's gone and pissed on the parade and put the fire of speculation out.

Tweeting that the "rumours are false", Rita added that she has "nothing but the utmost respect for Beyoncé".

So either that's the truth, and she really does want to clarify that at no point have her V and Jay Z's P come into contact, or she's got a scolding from her PR people telling her to stop being so darn cryptic on social media.

So when her brother, Rob Kardashian, caught her mid-selfie-taking, we weren't at all surprised to see how seriously she takes it.

Rob posted a video he'd taken of 18-year-old Kylie taking a photo of herself in the mirror to his Snapchat. And the fact that he has to call her name a million times (give or take...) before she even notices he's there is a true sign of her dedication to getting the right angle/lighting etc.

During a Q&A with Cosmopolitan Entertainment Director Lottie Lumsden, she admitted, "I'm kind of sick of people getting angry at women who comment on it because they make a big sum of money.

"It's a conversation that affects everybody and it's just that they have the voice and the platform to talk about it.

"I want to be part of that conversation too. It's a simple fact – women should be paid as much as men. It's not about how much certain women make, let's just make it equal. I think it makes perfect sense. Hopefully it's not a conversation we have to have for much longer."

Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni's husband emerges as kingpin of international drug cartel

With a total seizure of 18.5tonne of Ephedrine and 2.5 tonne of acetic anhydride, Thane police is making news for all the right reasons. For this achievement, they have received a letter of appreciation from the US Drug Enforcement Agency, whose officials visited Thane police commissioner's office on Wednesday.

The police have so far arrested 8 persons, including a Nigerian national, and the total worth of the seized drugs is around Rs2,500 crore in the international market. During investigation the police found the alleged kingpin of the racket is none other than Vicky Goswami, husband of former Bollywood actor Mamta Kulkarni. Goswami, who is out on bail after he was arrested by the Kenyan police officials with the information from the US DEA, will soon be extradited from Kenya.

Manoj Jain — director of Avon Lifesciences Limited office in Solapur MIDC, a company listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange — has been termed as the brain behind the drug racket. Along with him, Punit Shringi, manager of the unit, was held with drugs hidden in his car that was recovered from Dharavi. Pradeep Singh Gill, transporter of drugs in various states, too has been arrested.

"With the arrests made in the case and busting the international drug racket the US DEA chief Derek Odney met us and gave a letter of appreciation. He also acknowledged the fact that the drug cartel in the International market have faced a major setback," said Param Bir Singh, Thane CP.

The drug trail

It all began with the arrest of Sipren Chinassa, a Nigerian national, with 500g of ephedrine who led the cops to the manufacturing unit at Solpaur. Chinassa led the cops to Sagar Powale and Mayur Sukhdare, who were arrested in Thane for allegedly possessing around 2kg of ephedrine. This was followed by the arrest of Dhaneshwar Swamy with 5.50kg of ephedrine powder. After this Dnyaneshwar Dhimri, production manager from Solapur unit, was also arrested.

On further grilling, the investigation led to persons related to the company — Manoj Jain, Punit Shringi and Pradeep Singh Gill. "Members and directors of the company were directly connected to the Kenyan drug mafia king Vicky Goswami. Earlier, too, they had not disclosed the amount of drug that was being manufactured at the company," said a crime branch police officer.

He added: "The accused were planning to arrange a unit at Mombasa in Kenya were they can turn ephedrine into methamphetamine which is costlier in the international market. The Gujarat and Maharashtra police are working on this drug cartel while we have found that 4-5 persons are still absconding. We will arrest them soon."

Shortland Street actress on Victoria: She's heartbroken

It's no lie. Laura Thompson is as surprised as anyone that Shortland Street's Dr Victoria Anderton is still free to wreak her kind of havoc.

"I'm amazed I'm still working on the show," says Thompson.

"I shot someone and a few months ago I tortured a patient. I've done lots of things that warrant me to leave and each week, as she gets more and more stressed and her mask becomes more and more fragile, the lies she's creating are deeper and more desperate. She's in so deep now she can't get out."

To recap, Victoria shot fellow doctor Drew McCaskill (Ben Barrington) and framed Margaret Hannah (Debbie Newby-Ward) for the crime.

Margaret fled Ferndale, leaving Victoria free to move in on her husband Mo (Jarrod Rawiri) and she is now pretending to be pregnant with his baby. But now Margaret is back in contact with her family which puts her firmly in the doctor's sights.

"Margaret should watch the hell out of her," Thompson warns.

The actress scored the role of Victoria straight out of drama school and is as surprised as anyone about just what a villain the high-achieving rich-girl doctor has turned out to be.

"She's always been a very intense personality, a bit contentious and full on but she was never a criminal," she says of Ferndale's latest dodgy doctor.

"I don't think she's psycho. I just think she's a very heartbroken and desperate person," Thompson says.

"I'm not saying she's normal but, for me, when you're playing a character that so many people hate, you've got to be the one that loves your character. So I'm always on her defence, but I'm also very aware that she's done some pretty awful things."

With Mo's son Curtis (Jayden Daniels) the only one suspicious of Victoria, she looks set to continue her villainous ways for some time yet.

"I don't think she will be able to get away with it for the rest of her life. I think when you're holding on to so many lies you're going to crack, especially someone with such an intense personality."

Thompson is making the most of every minute of her time on Shortland Street.

"I love it. She's the most amazing character to play, but she can be pretty exhausting.

"There was a week when she was really intense and paranoid and I had to go and have a massage because my back was like concrete from holding all that character's tension."

Then there's the feedback from fans.

"I was at the gym and someone screamed out 'murderer' and it was like, 'First of all you got that wrong because I didn't actually kill anyone'. The second thing was 'Great', because people care and for me that was me doing my job right," Thompson says.

"Every time I pick up a script it's like, 'Oh my goodness, what are you going to do next?'. I have no control over what she does. I just play it. That's quite fun."

Star Wars actress in demand

 

 Daisy Ridley set to star in a film version of The Lost Wife.

The 24-year-old British actress is now a star in demand following her leading role as Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and is now reportedly in talks to take one of the lead roles in the planned film.

The Lost Wife story has been adapted by screenwriter Marc Klein from Alyson Richman's 2011 book of the same name which is set in pre-World War 2 Prague and follows the tale of young married lovers art student Lenka and Josef whose lives are changed forever by the arrival of the invading Nazi army.

The couple are separated after being placed in a concentration camp and reunited 60 years later at their grandchildren's wedding.

Currently no studio or director are attached to the project, but CAA are aiming to sell the rights to the movie at the Cannes Film Market next month.

Away from her Star Wars duties, Ridley is to star in fantasy romance Kolma which is set to be directed by The Diary of a Teenage Girl's Marielle Helller and J.J. Abrams reuniting with Ridley as producer.

Daisy is currently shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII, which Rian Johnson is directing, and will be released in December 2017.

Prince's band The Revolution to reunite in his honour

Members of Prince's former band The Revolution have announced they will reunite for a series of concerts.

The announcement was made in a video on bass player Brown Mark's Facebook page.

Guitarist Wendy Melvoin said "after spending days together grieving", they had decided to "do some shows".

The band, who disbanded in 1986, had several line-ups, but the concerts are likely to feature Mark, Melvoin, keyboard players Lisa Coleman and Matt Fink and drummer Bobby Z.

While no dates have been announced, Melvoin added: "We'll be there soon."

The Revolution served as Prince's backing band at the launch of his career, although they did not officially receive their name until their appearance in Prince's 1984 film, Purple Rain.


They appeared with Prince on four albums - the Purple Rain soundtrack, Parade, 1999 and Around The World In A Day - and played on some of the star's biggest hits, including When Doves Cry, Let's Go Crazy and Kiss.

The group split in 1986 after the singer's Parade tour.

Prince was found dead in his Paisley Park recording studio last Thursday.

A private memorial service was held for the rock star on Saturday, attended by about 20 of his closest friends and family.

Bill Cosby takes legal hits in abuse cases on both U.S. coasts

Courts on both U.S. coasts dealt setbacks to Bill Cosby's legal team on Tuesday, as the comedian kept trying to fend off lawsuits over allegations that he has sexually abused women for decades.

A California judge, in a ruling made public on Tuesday, refused Cosby's second attempt to dismiss a lawsuit brought by a woman who accused the entertainer of sexually abusing her when she was 15 at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.

In New York, a federal judge ruled against Cosby's effort to compel the publisher of New York magazine to provide access to unedited interviews of six women who are suing him over separate abuse allegations.

Representatives for Cosby declined to comment.

More than 50 women have publicly accused Cosby of sexually assaulting them, often after plying them with alcohol or drugs in instances dating back decades. Many of the accusations are too old to be litigated, but the mounting scandal has knocked Cosby, 78, off his pedestal as one of the most popular, family-friendly entertainers in America.

As star of the long-running hit TV comedy "The Cosby Show" in the 1980s and early '90s, Cosby played a loving dad who was a model of responsible fatherhood. He has acknowledged marital infidelity but denied ever engaging in non-consensual sexual behavior.

CALIFORNIA CASE

In the California case, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Craig Karlan sided with Cosby's accuser, Judy Huth, in allowing her case to proceed, rejecting defense assertions that the lawsuit was barred under the statute of limitations.

The judge ruled that Huth properly brought her case under a California law allowing childhood abuse victims to sue as adults within three years of claiming to have realized they suffered repressed psychological damage.

Cosby lost a previous bid to fend off the same lawsuit on similar grounds last year.

Huth, now in her 50s, sued Cosby in December 2014, alleging that he plied her with alcohol and molested her during an encounter at the Playboy Mansion in 1974.

Her lawyer, Gloria Allred, said Huth's next step would be to take Playboy founder Hugh Hefner's deposition in May.

In Pennsylvania, authorities charged Cosby in December with sexually assaulting a woman in 2004. A judge on Tuesday scheduled a May 24 preliminary hearing in that case, in which prosecutors planned to outline evidence against Cosby. A Pennsylvania appeals court on Monday rejected Cosby's bid to have the case thrown out.

At least nine other women are suing Cosby for defamation, arguing they were smeared by his public assertions that their allegations were false.

In New York, U.S. District Judge Paul Gardephe in Manhattan ruled against Cosby's effort to compel New York Media LLC to provide access to unedited interviews of six women pursuing a civil lawsuit against him.

Gardephe said Cosby's subpoena request "bordered on frivolous" and was "wildly inconsistent" with New York's press shield law, which sets a high standard for when litigants can seek information from media organizations.

"The subpoena, in my judgment, is a fishing expedition," he said in court.

Prince died without a will, six siblings likely to share fortune

Music superstar Prince left no known will when he died last week, his sister said in court documents on Tuesday listing his six siblings or half-siblings as heirs to a legacy estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars.

The sister, Tyka Nelson, asked that a special administrator be appointed to handle Prince's affairs and that she be appointed to probate his estate.

In documents filed in a state court in Carver County, Minnesota, Nelson listed herself and five other siblings or half-siblings as Prince's heirs but gave no value of his assets or debts.

Prince, born Prince Rogers Nelson, was married and divorced twice. Under Minnesota law, Prince's assets are likely to be split evenly between the siblings, according to attorney Stephen Hopkins.

The value of his music catalog alone has been estimated at over $500 million, according to Prince's first manager, Owen Husney. That included potential licensing rights for film, TV, commercials and videogames that Prince rarely exploited, Husney said last week.

The influential singer, musician and songwriter behind hits like "Purple Rain" was found dead at age 57 on Thursday in an elevator at his Paisley Park Studios compound in a Minneapolis suburb. The cause of death was not yet known.

Michael Kosnitzky, a New York- and Miami-based attorney who advises the extremely wealthy, said he was surprised Prince had died without a will, given the artist's tendency to control his image, likeness, name and recordings.

"... That he would put himself in a position that he would lose control of those things at death I found very surprising," Kosnitzky said.

"What is to stop someone who controls his estate from saying that they’re going to promote purple Skittles?" he said, referring to Prince's signature color and the popular candy, adding that he did not think Prince would approve.

In her court filings, Nelson said she did not know of the existence of a will and had "no reason to believe that the Decedent executed testamentary documents in any form."

She proposed the Bremer Bank in Minnesota as special administrator, saying it had done business for years with Prince.

Since his death, sales of his albums have soared; more than 2.3 million songs and some 580,000 albums have sold since Thursday, according to Nielsen Music. [nL2N17S1QA}

Aside from royalties from his more than 30 albums, Prince regained ownership of his master recordings after a dispute with his Warner Bros. (TWX.N) music label.

He was also said to have a cache of unheard recordings, including an album cut with late jazz trumpet great Miles Davis.

Hopkins, the Minnesota attorney, predicted a long, drawn-out case over Prince's assets, probably lasting years.

Sales soar for late singer Prince as his music tops Billboard charts

 

The music of Prince soared to the top of the weekly U.S. Billboard 200 album chart on Monday after the singer's sudden death last week, as mourning fans rushed to remember the artist's legacy through his music.

Nielsen Music said Monday it had tracked 2.3 million song sales and more than 579,000 albums sales from Prince's catalog in the three days following the news of his unexpected death at age 57 at his Minnesota estate last Thursday.

Album sales were led by "The Very Best of Prince," a 2001 compilation of the R&B artist's hits including "Purple Rain" and "Kiss," which sold more than 250,000 copies in the three days.

The compilation topped the Billboard 200 album chart, which measures music sales on a Friday through Thursday week, with 179,000 units from album and song sales and limited streaming, according to figures from Nielsen.

Prince's 1984 album "Purple Rain" came in at No. 2 with 69,000 units sold, and the singer's 1993 box-set "The Hits/The B-Sides" reached No. 6 with 41,000 units sold.

Prince had been tenacious in limiting use of his material on YouTube and digital music streaming platforms such as Spotify and Rhapsody. The singer did make his entire catalog available on the artist-owned, premium subscription streaming service Tidal, launched by rapper Jay Z.

On the Digital Songs chart, "Purple Rain" led five Prince songs in the top 10, which measures online song download sales.
